We need more resistance like this, from the article:

With a new law in effect that limits what flags governments across Idaho can display, the City of Boise currently isn’t complying.

BoiseDev first reported on Monday that the city was continuing to fly the “Progress Pride” flag outside of Boise City Hall. That flag includes five horizontal stripes in rainbow colors, as well as a chevron featuring colors associated with representation for the Trans community, and black and brown stripes for people of color.

They shouldn’t as a matter of not being shitbags, but not as a matter of law. If they want to reap the consequences of being a public nazi, by all means. Not everyone has a meat shield like Musk.

Well, Nazi flag might fall under Fighting Words which aren’t protected speech.

Flags promoting inclusivity aren’t fighting words. Flags promoting hate are.

So I could technically beat the fuck out of someone waving a Nazi flag without repercussions, then?

            🤔

Free speech applies to individuals, not government agencies. A more obvious example would be a local government deciding to fly the christian flag. Obviously, that should not be allowed, but if an individual decides to do it, it’s protected speech.

That said, I’m all for whoever is keeping these flags up. Obviously there’s nothing unconstitutional about representation, and obviously the right wingers are just feeling emboldened to power trip.
