For those curious as I to the article’s “what”:

President Biden will travel to Racine County, Wisconsin, on Wednesday to unveil a $3.3 billion investment by Microsoft to build a new artificial intelligence data center, according to Biden officials.

    and the “why”:

He’ll be taking a not-so-subtle shot at former President Trump in the same location where Trump touted a $10 billion Foxconn facility, which he called the “eighth wonder of the world” seven years ago.

Microsoft closing a bunch of game studios and investing billions on AI at the same time, that’s just great huh

That doesn’t make any sense, it’s like complaining Sony doesn’t make enough movies when their electronics division is expanding.
The 2 are not connected apart from having the same owner.

Yea, pretty sure their AI stuff is under their Enterprise division and the game studios under their Gaming and consumer entertainment division.

Those could not be any further apart from each other lmao

I don’t think he’s comparing them directly. Just saying, that in general we need more games and less expansion in AI technology

This guy right here got it. I didnt say “they closed game studios to use that money to invest on AI” I just said its happening at the same time and sarcastically said its ‘great’

Closing a bunch of profitable game studios*

They weren’t floundering (at least Tango Gameworks wasn’t, I Guess I’m not positive on the others).

Was Trump’s $10 billion Foxconn facility built? Is it thriving today?

Edit: googled and answered my own question, it was never built.
