Hi, I’m sbird! I like to make all sorts of things!
I think it might not be supported. My device is an Asus Zenbook 14 Flip so might not be supported compared to something like a lenovo yoga or the tuxedo flip.
Ahh that’s why. Okay gotcha that makes sense. If I do switch, I’ll probably test both a bit more to see which I like using the best. I just booted the live usb and played around for a bit, testing things like touchscreen support and auto-rotate
Linux Mint XFCE, it was easy to setup and could run on my really old laptop.
also one annoying thing is that normally on windows, since my laptop is one of those flexy 2-in-1s, it auto-rotates depending on how you put it (like “tent mode” or “book mode”). On both KDE Plasma and GNOME, it doesn’t work. I guess my specific device isn’t supported? I can live with that though, I can rotate the screen manually and don’t realistically rotate the screen all too often.
Cinnamon with Mint is still great UI, it just feels slightly less modern in my opinion. Still much better than Windows with their pre-2000 UI once you go deep enough
hooray!
taste one thing would be too easy as everyone would just choose pizza. fight me.
honestly mint really a very easy distro, I enjoyed using it too. Fedora and other distros also seem pretty cool
Linux Mint is a nice and easy distro that is quite good :D
honestly inkscape is great :D I switched from illustrator after my adobe creative cloud subscription expired, and it’s been an easy transition!
oh that’s sad. I mostly switched out of proton bc I didn’t want to put all my eggs in one basket. Also, not having IMAP sucksss because both the official proton and tuta apps are SLOW
also, check out some of the firefox forks. I personally really like Floorp since it lets me put the tab bar at the bottom and customise the UI! Librewolf is also decent but some of its privacy anti-fingerprinting stuff makes it a bit annoying to use
onlyoffice is also a pretty good option for ms office compatibility
i think he wants a rec for a linux distro
gmail -> proton or tuta if you don’t care about IMAP, or any other decent email provider (I use disroot, I set my brother up with mailfence, they both seem quite good. I use them with thunderbird) pycharm -> not an IDE, but I like VSCodium (vscode without MS)
fluent reader is good!
for me:
yeah I should probably include the MSRPs or maybe a link to something like camelcamelcamel. that’s a good idea, I’ll do that later
also that logical increments site seems very cool, will go check it out!
I’m not a spam bot, I’m just a dumb dumb for posting the same thing 17 times (won’t do it again hopefully!)
Fedora. I thunk my device might not be supported, or maybe there’s some software I need to install to make it work. Not a huge deal though.
